About

The Lewis Garden Fair will be a Family-Friendly Plant Sale and Garden-Inspired Art Market, that will take place Saturday, April 17th from 10am to 3pm. We are inviting the entire community to visit the Lewis Learning Gardens, buy plants, buy art and buy baked goods, while learning a little bit about how we recycle, compost and teach the kids how to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

A leader in Portland’s “green” school initiatives, Lewis Elementary is located in the Woodstock neighborhood of Southeast Portland. Proceeds from the Garden Fair will support Lewis Learning Gardens, our outdoor educational program that teaches students, grades K-5, about gardening and sustainability practices, including garden care and planning, recycling, composting and water management.

Lewis Elementary has historically had two major fundraisers a year along with many smaller fundraisers.  The two major fundraisers have been the Holiday Bazaar and the Lewis Auction.  For the 2009/2010 school year we are hosting the Lewis Holiday Bazaar in the Fall, but instead of an auction in the Spring, we plan to have a Garden Art Event as our second major fundraiser.  We will also have Lewis Eats Out nights one per month. An updated list of each date and location will be available soon, a Barnes and Noble Bookfair on October 17th,18th and eScrip).  If you have an fundraising idea please contact us.
